Ministries

Ministries

Many ministries, one calling: teaching, preaching and caring according to the Word of God.

Since its beginnings as a Bible Study and Prayer gathering in 2005, NFCM has grown into a ministry with a place for every season of life — children and youth, couples and families, women and men. Each ministry is an expression of our motto: we care and we share.

Faith & Spiritual Growth

Rooted in Prayer and the Word

Prayer and biblical teaching have shaped NFCM since its first gathering.

Prayer & Intercession

Prayer has been central to NFCM since it began as a Bible Study and Prayer gathering in 2005. The ministry continues to emphasise congregational prayer, intercession, prayer meetings, prayer and fasting, and prayer support for members.

Prayer Meeting & Bible Study · Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Prayer & Fasting · 1st Saturdays, 7:00 a.m.

Biblical Learning & Evangelism

NFCM is committed to Bible teaching, spiritual development and sharing the Gospel. Its evangelism has historically focused on surrounding Kingston communities alongside wider mission activity — often joined with prayer and practical service.

Prayer Meeting & Bible Study · Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.

Worship & Music

The Worship & Music ministry creates opportunities for members to use their musical gifts in service to God and the church — including singers, the choir, musicians, instrumentalists and worship leaders.

Couples Ministry

NFCM’s Couples Ministry provides resources, conversations and opportunities designed to support healthy, lasting Christian marriages.

In February 2020 the ministry launched the B1 Marriage Ministry Video Podcast. By the time of NFCM’s 18th anniversary, more than 50 programmes had been produced, exploring real-life marriage and relationship topics through practical discussion.

Family Life

Family Life promotes healthy, strong families centred on faith and Christian values — looking beyond marriage to the whole household. The ministry has created opportunities for family fellowship, relationship strengthening, recreation, Christian teaching and community building.

Children & Sunday School

Sunday School provides a loving Christian environment in which children can grow spiritually and morally, through biblical learning, Christian values, age-appropriate teaching, fellowship and participation in church life.

Sunday School · Sundays, 10:00 a.m.

Internal note (hidden on the live site): Add an authentic Sunday School photograph (with parental consent for children’s images).

Generations

Mentoring Every Generation

From young people discovering their faith to women and men growing in purpose.

Men’s Ministry

Men of Purpose. Men of Faith.

Reaching and mentoring men has been a major emphasis at NFCM and in Bishop McFarlane’s ministry. The Men’s Ministry seeks to meet men where they are and to create spaces where they can talk honestly about the challenges they face — developing strong men for their families, the church and the community.

Established as the Women’s Department in 2007 and known as Women of Purpose since 2010, WOP supports the needs, growth and Christian development of women in the church.

Its ministry has included prayer, fellowship, women’s gatherings, the annual Women’s Prayer Breakfast, retreats and engagement sessions.

Care & Community

We Care and We Share — In Practice

Dignity, compassion and practical care for people in our church and wider community.

Social Outreach

NFCM’s Social Outreach Ministry reflects the belief that the church is not simply an institution, but a community called to love and serve others. It has provided practical assistance, built community relationships and supported programmes that demonstrate Christian compassion.

  • Food assistance
  • Support for vulnerable individuals and families
  • Community outreach
  • Collaboration with community organisations
  • Support for senior citizens
  • Evangelism connected with practical care

The Pantry

Dignity. Compassion. Practical care.

The NFCM Pantry has been one of the ministry’s longstanding expressions of practical care — helping to provide food and assistance to families in need and supporting wider outreach initiatives.

Internal note (hidden on the live site): Add authentic Pantry photographs (original files, not magazine screenshots). Do not publish quantities or numbers of families unless verified for the current period.

Welfare & Hospitality

Welfare & Hospitality fosters care, welcome and a sense of belonging among members and visitors — welcoming guests, supporting members, encouraging fellowship and helping to create a warm church environment.

Visiting NFCM? We’d love to welcome you.

Health & Wellness

The Health & Wellness ministry has promoted physical health through health education, wellness sessions, discussions on health conditions, healthy lifestyle information and physical activity.

Health information shared by NFCM is for general education and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional.

Service & Development

Serve at NFCM

Every ministry depends on people who give their time and gifts.

Ushers

The Ushers ministry supports a welcoming and orderly worship environment and assists members and visitors during services.

Training & Development

NFCM places emphasis on developing members’ skills and equipping them for service and leadership. Training has included leadership, ministry development, public speaking, personal development and digital learning.

S.A.F.E. Groups

Faith Grows in Community

Church is more than gathering on Sunday. S.A.F.E. Groups help create space for support, accountability, fellowship, prayer and evangelism within smaller communities.

A

F

E

Evangelism

S.A.F.E. Groups provide smaller, supportive settings where members can connect with one another, pray, fellowship, share experiences and encourage each other. Groups have historically been organised geographically to make fellowship and care more accessible.

Support for Life

NFCM recognises that spiritual growth is connected to the realities of everyday life. Through ministry, fellowship and appropriate guidance, the church seeks to support members as they navigate personal, family and financial challenges.

Internal note (hidden on the live site): Do not advertise counselling or financial/investment services until current availability and qualifications are formally confirmed. Do not list historical group leaders.

There Is a Place for You

Whatever your season of life, there is a place for you to grow, belong and serve at NFCM. Tell us what interests you and the church can help you get connected.
